The Twitter account behind Shingo Adachi’s original anime series Lycoris Recoil released a new teaser announcing that a new animation project for the series has been greenlit!
The animation plays a song from the series while also going through plenty of memorable scenes from Lycoris Recoil, and then ends with the tagline “Their story… Is not over”. The project was announced at a Lycoris Recoil Cafe earlier in the day after the party event.
It’s been 7 months since Lycoris Recoil debuted on July 2 when it captivated audiences with its great visuals, intriguing story and world and the incredibly touching relationship between Chisato, Takina, and everyone else at Café LycoReco, and we can’t wait to see more of them in the next animation project, whether it be an OVA, or possibly even a second season!
▍About Lycoris Recoil
Lycoris Recoil is an original TV animation spearheaded by Shingo Adachi, who previously worked on series like Sword Art Online, Working!!! and the Megaman Star Force series.
The series follows Takina Inoue, a member of a governmen-sponsored task force of assassins called Lycoris whose job is to eliminate all threats to Japan before they can act, while disguising themselves as regular high school students. After an operation goes awry, Takina is dismissed from her role in the agency and sent to work with Chisato Nishikigi, an elite Lycoris agent at an undercover branch called LycoReco. When she meets Chisato she finds her to be an incredibly cheery and outgoing girl!
The series follows the two on their various missions and high jinks, as they get to know each other and grow a bond that’s thicker than blood, all while stopping a growing threat from a terrorist organization.
