Based on the yuri manga written and illustrated by Miman, the television anime adaptation of Yuri is My Job! has revealed a new visual, the second trailer, and premiere date on April 6, 2023.
The opening theme song “Himitsu▽Melody” is performed by voice actress Yui Ogura, who also plays the main character Hime Shiraki in the anime series. The opening theme song and the ending theme song “Yume ga Samete mo” by Hime (CV: Yui Ogura) & Mitsuki (CV: Sumire Uesaka) will be included in the anime disc to be released on April 19.
Miman first serialized the manga in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime on November 18, 2016, and is licensed in English by Kodansha USA.
The story of Yuri is My Job! centers on Hime, a high school girl who deeply cares about her image as a sweet, helpful princess but on the inside only cares about herself. Against her will, Hime gets manipulated into working as a waitress at a place that’s part café, part theater, where all the waitresses pretend to be students at a fictional German all-girls boarding school.
Hime finds herself falling for another waitress at the café, who in front of the customers gives Hime love and devotion like she’s never known. There’s just one problem: Behind the scenes, Hime’s crush hates her guts.
An advance screening of the anime will also be held on March 25 at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo with two parts. The first part of the event will feature Yui Ogura as Hime Shiraki, Sumire Uesaka as Mitsuki Yano, and Tanaka Minami as Kanoko Mamiya, while the second part will feature the members of the first part as well as Makoto Koichi, who plays Sumika Chibana.
In addition, to commemorate Hime’s birthday on February 14, a free chocolate distribution event will be held at Akihabara Gamers in Tokyo, Japan on February 19 at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm [JST].
