The Zoids franchise initially debuted back in 1982 and 1983 in Japan, meaning it’s been about 40 years since the series made its mainstream debut.
To celebrate that, the Zoids Twitter account released a teaser, saying “the promise has been made” and then showing footage of the original anime series Chaotic Century, and announcing something special related to the project in spring 2023!
While not explicitly stated, the phrasing of tweet seems to imply that the series is poised to make a return in some form. Whether that means the series is getting a re-run, or remake, or even a sequel is still up in the air, so we’ll have to wait and see in a few months time what it will actually be!

Chaotic Century is an anime series produced by TOMY based on the manga series KiKiiju Shinseiki Zoido by Michiro Ueyama. The series is the first of 5 anime series based on the property and also had a popular English release.
The series is set in the outer reachse of the Milky Way on planet Zi. The planet possesses metallic life-forms called Zoids, powerful creatuers resembling animals that have been used as weapons for centuries.
The story follows Van Flyheight, a young teenager who finds a young girl called Fiona and an original zoid named Zeke. Together they find that Zeke has the power to merge with other Zoids to become more powerful, and with that the trio set off on a journey to uncover Fiona’s past.
