Dead Island 2, the zombie-infested game developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, has revealed a 14-minute gameplay trailer giving a detailed look into the game’s brutal world in Los Angeles’ Bel Air district. It is slated to release on April 21 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store.
The trailer follows Dani, a Slayer from County Cork, Ireland, who must make her way to the Halperin Hotel amidst hordes of various types of zombies. From standard Walkers, Shamblers, and Runners, to the powerful Apex and Variant types, each zombie has unique abilities and behaviors that must be overcome.
Dani is a tough and agile fighter, able to wield a variety of weapons with different combat styles and upgrade options. To gain the upper hand against the undead, she can also use Meat Traps and skill cards that enhance her abilities and allow for devastating combos.
One of the highlights of the Dead Island 2 is the advanced dismemberment system called FLESH (Fully Locational Evisceration System for Humanoids), which means that artfully hacking up zombies has never been more fun.
Players also get a glimpse of Dani’s powerful Rage Mode, where her corrupted DNA is activated, unleashing devastating attacks that tear through hordes of zombies. The video also teases the game’s story, with Dani’s mission to reach the Halperin Hotel hinting at a larger narrative to be explored in the game.
