A demo of the upcoming Bayonetta prequel Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is now available on the Nintendo eShop. The game also reveals a story trailer showcasing Cereza’s first steps on her path to becoming the beloved Bayonetta.
The demo offers players the chance to play as both Cereza and her demon companion Cheshire, as they journey into the Avalon Forest to look for the power to save Cereza’s mother. The demo’s data can also be transferred to the full game when launched, meaning players can pick up where they left off and continue the adventure without interruption. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is due out on March 17 for Nintendo Switch.
Presented in a storybook style, the story trailer gives players a brief glimpse into the story of how the legendary witch Bayonetta took her first steps as the young Cereza. It also offers a sneak peek at the game’s magical setting, stunning visuals, and the action-packed gameplay that the Bayonetta series is known for.
Nintendo’s Japanese Youtube channel also streamed a trailer giving a more in-depth look at the gameplay of Bayonetta Origins. The existence of a different space created by the faeries and called the “Shadow Realm” is presented. This realm is different from the forest and has various tricks and puzzles that require Cereza and Cheshire’s abilities to overcome.
To progress through the realm, players must destroy its core located at the deepest part. Doing so will cause the space to disappear, and the surrounding maps will be unlocked, allowing for more freedom to explore the forest.
