During the Level-5 Tsuzumi live broadcast, the developer revealed a new teaser trailer for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time showcasing what you can do in this upcoming simulation title! Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will launch worldwide for Nintendo Switch in 2023.
The new trailer showcased the character creation, as well as the meaning behind the game’s name. Furthermore, we also see that there is new Life to choose from…?
▍ Customize Your Avatar However You Like!
Before setting foot in Reveria, you must first create your own avatar! Select from various hairstyles, hair colors, skin details, clothing, voice, and even more! You can use the right stick to rotate your character and once you’re finished, press the plus button. Even if you change your mind later, you should be able to freely change your appearance.
▍ 2 New Life for a total of 14?!
One of the interesting aspects of the trailer was how it showed the Life Select screen in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Twelve Lives from the 3DS version of the game were present: Paladin, Mercenary, Hunter, Magician, Miner, and so on. Each class specializes in three main categories: Battling, Gathering, and Creating.
However, what is interesting is that on the official website, in the Life Select screen, you can see two Lifes with a question mark, meaning we’ll be seeing two new classes to choose from in this version! If I had to guess based on their positioning, it might be a collecting class like Miner and a crafting class similar to Tailor and Alchemist.
▍Why it is Called Fantasy Life i?
You might be wondering why the game is called Fantasy Life i. Well, the broadcast explains that the “i” can mean three things: The first is the “i” for the island, as the game takes place on Mysteria Island. The second meaning is that “i” is the first letter of the word “Internet” because you will be able to play online multiplayer with others just like in the original.
Finally, the last meaning for “i” is “individuality”, because there is no one best Life to choose from: You’re free to do whichever! Even if it means slacking off and just doing things, you’re not limited to time! There’s also a fourth hidden meaning, but…it seems we’ll have to wait to see what that means.
