The Korean indie game developer Blanbee announced that its interactive visual novel Fake Heart will be coming to Steam’s Early Access program on March 25, 2023! The full version of the game is planned for release in the first quarter of 2023 at the price of JPY$1,400.
However, the game can only be early accessed in Japanese and Korean, with English and Chinese coming in “subsequent updates”, according to the developer. The Early Access version will contain eight chapters in total.
Fake Heart is an “Interactive-Visual Novel” game about an episode between elderly fairy tale writer Jade and her granddaughter Sarah. The game has won two awards in the rookie category for Excellence in Narrative and Excellence in Audio at the BIC Festival 2021 in Busan, South Korea. It also won the top prize in the student category at the 2nd INDIEPLUS AWARDS organized by the Korean Indie Game Association.

▍ Fake Heart Gameplay
Fake Heart depicts the sorrows and memories of an aging fairy tale writer, Jade, in a world of black and white. Hundreds of illustrations, each different from the next scene, blend with its beautiful music and storytelling to create an immersive experience that is like watching a movie.
In each scene, various objects can be moved in a point-and-click game style. In addition, there are also actions such as chatting via a messenger application, and further “touchable” elements to make the game more interactive than the typical visual novel where you would just read the text.
