Developer/publisher NetEase has announced that its auto-battler RPG mobile game Clover Theater is shutting down on June 7, 11:00 [JPT]. The announcement did not explain the explicit reason for the shutdown. The game launched on August 3, 2022, and will have been live for 10 months when it shuts down.
NetEase added that the game will no longer accept any microtransactions from users, and has ceased sales of all Carrot currencies at the in-game store as of the posting of the announcement in-game and on the official Clover Theater Twitter account.
Players who have any remaining paid Carrots are eligible for a refund, from which the game will be taking applications from June 8, 11:00 to September 7, 11:00 [JPT]. Further details on the refund process will be posted after the end of service and will be posted on the title screen of the game.
