Warner Bros. Games announced a new Harry Potter multiplayer game, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, coming to consoles and PC.
The game was announced on Twitter and its official website with an incredibly brief trailer showing off the Quidditch map and a character model. While little is known about the game, the developers did announce that a Playtest for the game is coming soon, with signups available right now through its official website.
In the words of the developers, the game is stated to be a multiplayer game that “engages players in the sport of Quidditch and other broomstick adventures alongside friends in a competitive, multiplayer setting.” The game will also have customizable characters, and be completely online, requiring an internet connection to play. The exact consoles the game will be on have yet to be confirmed.
The game is being developed under Portkey Games, a new studio formed by Warner Brothers specifically for creating Harry Potter games. The studio stated that all games made by them have not been written by, J.K. Rowling, nor are they direct adaptations of the books and films, but have received approval from the author when it comes to the design and creation of these games.
