SNK has set a release date for its next DLC character for The King of Fighters XV, Sylvie Paula Paula! Revealed first alongside the announcement of Shingo’s addition to the roster earlier this year, people can pick her up as a paid add-on character on May 16, 2023.
The addition of Sylvie marks the third DLC character for the game so far in 2023. Things kicked off in January 2023 with Shingo Yabuki. After that, Kim Kaphwan joined the roster in April 2023. The next character to appear will be Goenitz, who will be a free add-on for all players. In addition, Najd is also expected to launch in the Summer of 2023. Two more unnamed characters are also set to appear in the future.
The announcement trailer also revealed that the Harajuku fashion clad, Sparkster will come with an additional costume that replicates her look from her first appearance in KOF XIV. Sylvie Paula Paula can be purchased as an individual DLC item for $JPY660 or claimed as part of the KOF XV Fighter Pass deal that will contain all six characters including the additions in the future for $JPY3,300.
As an added bonus, bundled together with the addition of Sylvie in the playable roster is also the inclusion of 8 new Destiny Battle tracks that play when two specific characters are fighting. No particular tracks are revealed as of this announcement, though Chizuru and Benimaru can be seen on the image revealing the info, possibly alluding to the addition of tracks when they are duking it out.

The King of Fighters XV, or KOFXV is SNK’s latest entry in its landmark fighting-game franchise of the same name, starting from its first entry in The King of Fighters ’94.
KOF XV has been released on February 17, 2022 for consoles and PC, and has continued to receive major updates while also bringing a new system to the game in the form of Shatter Strike, a sorry of parry attack that lets you negate one blow from the opponent, and cause a crumple state on them leading to massive combos. The game also brings back the “Rush” system from KOF14, which lets players execute basic combos by pressing a single button repeatedly.
Following the appearance and defeat of Verse, the next KOF tournament begins when the new commissioner Anastasia sends out invitations to fighters to join the tournament; the mayhem caused by Verse’s powers resurrects various long-thought deceased fighters from past tournaments as well…
