Publisher Aniplex and developer studio Cut to Bits, a new Montreal-based studio founded by industry veterans, has announced the upcoming release of an exciting new Metroidvania game, Venture to the Vile.
Venture to the Vile immerses players in a dynamic narrative featuring a monstrous entity known as “the Vile”. After the Vile leaves their town in ruins and their arm blackened, the protagonist discovers that their best friend, Luella, has disappeared.
The players’ journey will see them exploring a world that transforms based on the time of day or weather conditions, meeting an eccentric cast of characters, battling fierce enemies, and gradually transforming into the very monster they’re fighting against. As the story unfolds and the truth about the Vile comes to light, players will face a difficult choice: embrace this terrifying evolution, or fight to eradicate it.
The development team of Venture to the Vile is formed by veterans who have worked on acclaimed AAA titles such as BioShock Infinite, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Set in a world that seamlessly blends playfulness and sinisterness, Venture to the Vile is scheduled for a 2024 release on both PC via Steam and unconfirmed console platforms.
