Publisher Shueisha announced that Naoshi Komi’s Nisekoi / False Love romance manga is getting a reprint in a special bunko paperback format, and as part of this release, the series will also be getting an epilogue chapter, nearly 7 years after the original manga ended its run.
The special bunko reprints will be collected in 16 volumes as opposed to the original manga’s 25 volumes. Each of these volumes will contain new cover art, and 14 of these will be covering the main manga series, with the last two being the manga’s novelizations. The first of these two volumes, with the covers featuring Kirisaki Chitoge and Kosaki Onodera, will be shipped on June 16, with new volumes of these mangas being released on the 18th of every month.
▍About Nisekoi
Naoshi Komi began Nisekoi’s original run back on November 7, 2011 on Shonen Jump and quickly rose to become the publisher’s most recognizable romance manga series. Nisekoi has been adapted into multiple media including an anime series by studio Shaft, a novel series, games, and a live-action film in 2018.
Raku Ichijo is the son and heir to a Yakuza faction called the Shuei-gumi. Despite his upbringing, he’s actually an upstanding member of society, who’s able to take care of himself, and while he values those in his group, he never wants to partake in their activities. One day he meets Kirisaki Chitoge, the daughter of a rival gang called Beehive, and the two meet when Chitooge hops over a wall and accidentally knees Ichijo in the face, causing him to lose his locket.
When he makes Chitoge find the locket together, the two return home only to realize that his bride-to-be is none other than Chitoge, but the two have already started off on the worst foot as they begin to hate each other, but have to keep up a charade of love so prevent their gangs from starting a war!
What follows is a romantic comedy where the two pretend to like each other, while Ichijo tries to confess to Kosaki Onodera, the girl he’s loved since middle school, and the three grapple with their feelings as their shared past starts being unearthed.
