Today at Summer Game Fest, Ubisoft announced that the Prince of Persia franchise is getting a new game. And instead of the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, we have Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a new side-scrolling action platformer that will release on Nintendo Switch PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, Xbox One and PC via Steam on January 18, 2024.
“Dash into a stylish and thrilling action-adventure platformer game set in a mythological Persian world where the boundaries of time and space are yours to manipulate,” according to the game’s website. You’ll be able to access “time powers” for fighting and platforming, and the game will have different biomes that have their own “identity, wonders, and dangers.”
The players play as Sargon, who is part of a group of warriors called The Immortals, assigned the task of rescuing Prince Ghassan. Their adventure takes them to Mount Qaf, which has recently become hostile, and unexpectedly, they discover that time itself is a force to be reckoned with.
