▍About Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a Nintendo DS game ported over to modern consoles, directed by Shu Takumi, the creator of the Ace Attorney franchise.
The game has you follow Sissel, a detective who was mysteriously killed, and even more suddenly granted powers that he can use to go back in time. The catch is he can only go back to the last 4 minutes of a person’s life, but in that time he can influence objects in the world, perhaps saving them and learning more about the mystery behind his death!
To investigate his death, his best clue lies in the life of a rookie detective, someone who found Sissel’s body and is also investigating his murder. As he follows her around and saves her life, he will also comes across other characters that need his assistance, and how he saves them will influence the path they take later on in the story, affecting the plot and how they meet each other.
In the game players have four minutes to think about what objects in the world they can influence as Sissel connects to the “core” of the object, changing its trajectory and causing it to move in erratic ways. Use these to distract assassins, call upon the attention of the character so they can come up with a new plan of action, and more.
