▍Legenne -BE A STAR-
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"Isn’t the difficulty too high?!"
"The music is quite unique, not bad!"
"The characters are cute. They made the 3D models nice and simple, smart move."
The game could use a few improvements, but Legenne is surely a game that surpassed expectations. Although this is a rhythm game, the impression it
gives is that of an action game. The game doesn’t focus on song and dance, but rather stage performance which is quite refreshing.
Each character has a different animal feature which has a sense of originality, making it stand out from other rhythm games. definitely worth
trying.
▍SKYOVER
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"The weird Akira Toriyama style character designs are ugly."
"The combat pace needs to be improved, I’m falling asleep."
"Poor UX, screen transitions and sound effects reach irritating levels."
Surely a lot of people are having trouble accepting the Akira Toriyama style character designs. The character designs for this game is handled by
Toriyama’s apprentice, Miki Daiki (幹大樹), so it doesn’treally count as a
cheap imitation. However the style isn’t very much appreciated by players.
In terms of gameplay, the combat interface is similar to that of Dragon quest. Combat for the game is a little closer towards the slow side, not a
game that is right for every one.
▍Star Trigger
スタートリガー
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"Not good, it has the typical Chinese-made VIP system!"
"The game is interesting at first glance, but the system and balance… sigh."
"The only true skill in this game is money, F2P players won’t survive."
The Simplified Chinese version of the game has been released for a while now, players controls which objects their character takes cover behind and
shoot enemies. The game’s concept is great, but the game is almost completely pay-to-win. Call it realistic or imbalanced, but f2p playerrs will die in a couple of shots, making most of the game’s controls meaningless.
▍Venus Rumble
ヴィーナスランブル
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"Everyone’s actions are so cute! A game that only sells characters isn’t all bad."
"The UI and system have an obsolete feel to it."
"Is there a chance for the game to be released as an R18 game in DMM?"
This style of this game is similar to Korea’s Destiny Child. Selling quality character designs with Live2D graphics. What about the gameplay? well, it’s made as simple as possible, since that is no longer the main point to this game. The main point is the characters. the only thing that
gives any meaning to this game are the girls that appear.
▍SCHOOLGIRL STRIKERS~TWINKLE MELODIES~
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"The rhythm part of the game is terrible."
"The stage effects are a little cheap, aren’t they?"
"All SE has to do is have characters pick up an instrument and play FF music, then I’ll pay like mad!"
Square Enix continues to release more idol games, seriously.. why?
A lot of effort has been put into creating the game’s models, but improvements can still be made to the finer details. However, what killed the game is the ridiculously lousy controls. Commands pop up all over the screen without warning. Did they make the game for espers?
▍The iDOLM@STER SideM LIVE ON ST@GE!
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"The rhythm game aspect is too simple."
"Awesome! There’s a muscle type character, must support!"
"Are there any feminine Shota types or BL types? The game is too masculine for me.
"
Due to the success of the franchise, officials are finally confident enough to release an all male iDOLM@STER. the models live up to the iDOLM@STER standards and the game features a diverse range of characters.
▍Uta no☆Prince-Sama♪Shining Live
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"You can use Auto-mode for Practice, What a time to be alive!"
"Character development takes quite a bit, hope they have something like friendship summon."
"I’ve already spent several grand trying to get swimsuit URセシル…"
Including Uta no Prince, there’s already four rhythm games this week…
This game doesn’t feature and exceptionally good character models, or fancy on-screen effects. It simple sells Uta no Prince. That’s it. Seriously.
▍Sangokushi Enbu ~Ousama no Monogatari~
三国志炎舞~王様の物語~
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"I wonder if the guy who spent 4 billion on Sengoku Enbu will play this."
"The ads for this game is too pervy, I couldn’t openly pre-register for this game."
"The character designs are not bad, but the VIP system…"
Although the game is also XX Enbu, but the game is different from Sengoku
Enbu. The game itself isn’t anything special, along with a VIP system, the game has a heavy made in China impression…
