Square Enix officially announced Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, a new entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters series that is set to release for Nintendo Switch on December 1. The latest addition to the series, known as Dragon Quest Monsters 3 in Japan, was first hinted at in late May and finally unveiled during the June 21 Nintendo Direct transmission.
This new title propels players on an epic adventure where they take on the role of Psaro, a demon prince cursed to avoid harming monsters. Consequently, Psaro turns into a Monster Wrangler, recruiting a variety of monsters to join him as he navigates through the fantastical world of Nadiria. The game’s environment experiences the cyclical changes of Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall, altering the landscape and unveiling season-specific areas and monsters.
A unique feature of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is the synthesis system. This new feature enables players to blend existing monsters to create completely new creatures. The game offers a vast collection of over 500 monsters, including the series’ favorites, new creatures, and formidable dark lords. Players are encouraged to assemble their dream team of powerful monsters to engage in online battles against other Monster Wranglers worldwide.
The game’s announcement was accompanied by an official trailer, giving a glimpse into the enthralling journey players will embark on in the world of Nadiria. Pre-order details are expected to follow at a later date.
