Summer is up and Genshin Impact is celebrating the sizzling season with the launch of its Version 3.8 update, Secret Summer Paradise, on July 5. Players can expect to see a range of new features including new outfits for characters Klee and Kaeya, open-world gameplay, and a host of summer attractions! This update will also introduce players to a limited-time exploration area.
Centers around a summer getaway theme, Genshin Impact Version 3.8 offer players the chance to accompany characters Klee and Kaeya on an adventure. The journey will take you to an unexplored land with a multitude of attractions, challenges, and rewards to discover.
Additionally, HoYoverse gave players a glimpse into the urban view of Fontaine, an upcoming major area in the game, set to be launched in Version 4.0. The teaser was showcased at the end of the Version 3.8 Special Program, building anticipation for the forthcoming nation.

▍Genshin Impact Ver. 3.8 New Limited-Time Area
Genshin Impact Version 3.8 presents players with the Veluriyam Mirage, an entirely new area to explore. This summer-themed area, marked by high hills, forested valleys, and dark caves, also boasts a myriad of amusement facilities.
Two open-world game modes will be available for traversing this area. The Choo-Choo Cart mode allows for players to be ferried around the Mirage, offering an engaging roller-coaster experience across its diverse landscape. The Preprint mode plunges players into a two-dimensional world, tasking them to solve hidden puzzles and unearth precious treasures.
As players navigate the Veluriyam Mirage, they can accumulate Joyeux Vouchers. These can be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including a new outfit for Kaeya.
▍Genshin Impact Ver. 3.8 Event Wish Banners
In the first part of this update, characters Klee and Eula will return, each with their dedicated event wishes. This is a remarkable occasion for travelers, as it is the long-awaited return of both characters.
Further into the version, the second part will feature returning event wishes for Sangonomiya Kokomi and Wanderer.
▍Genshin Impact Ver. 3.8 Hangout Events Series XI and New Outfits
As part of the 3.8 updates, Genshin Impact will be introducing a new Hangout Event featuring Kaeya. These events offer players the chance to delve deeper into a character’s storyline and personality, and Kaeya’s mysterious demeanor is set to make his event particularly engaging.
Furthermore, new outfits are being launched for both Kaeya and Klee. Klee’s outfit highlights her nature as a young mage, amplifying her charm, while Kaeya’s new attire is designed with a pirate theme, offering a fresh take on his character design.
Klee’s outfit, Blossoming Starlight, will be immediately available for purchase in the Character Outfit Shop after the update. A limited-time discount will be offered from the start of the update until August 14. During this period, the outfit will be priced at 1,350 Genesis Crystals, before reverting to its original price of 1,680 Genesis Crystals.
On the other hand, Kaeya’s new outfit, Sailwind Shadow, can be obtained for free by participating in the limited-time event “Secret Summer Paradise” in Version 3.8. Following the conclusion of Version 3.8, the outfit will be available for purchase in the Character Outfit Shop, priced at 1,680 Genesis Crystals.
▍Genshin Impact Ver. 3.8 New Event – Secret Summer Paradise
Four special summer events are set to grace the Veluriyam Mirage in the version. These summer specials promise plenty of rewards and a chance to recruit Layla for free.
The main event for Version 3.8 takes place not on an island as usual, but within a bottle situated in the desert. Players can find numerous Joyeux Vouchers scattered across the area, which can be collected for rewards, including Kaeya’s new outfit. Fortunately, players will have tools to aid them in their search, including crystals that can help locate the vouchers more efficiently.
The Spino Blaster, a fun water cannon game, is up first. Players will get to fire safe Hydro bullets at Target Balls to earn points within a set time limit. Each type of Target Ball, from Ordinormie to Dual-Charged, offers a unique challenge and reward.
The Sojourns of the Barking Fox is an adrenaline-packed game where players control a Barking Fox to reach a destination within a given time, collecting Adventure Coins along the way.
Dance of Flashing Thought is a combat mini-game with theatrical inspiration. Players can adjust their party to suit the different stage features and gather Honed Will to gain Honed Focus effects.
Lastly, Bing-Bang Finchball offers a unique game experience inspired by the flight mechanics of finches. Players aim to place as many Finchballs as possible in high-scoring zones to complete the challenges.
▍Genshin Impact Ver. 3.8 Additional Events & Updates
Alongside the limited-time map, Genshin Impact Version 3.8 will also introduce an array of other updates and new events.
The first is the Shared Sight event. Players will aid a researcher in gathering experimental data, using an item named the Inscribed Mirror. This device enables players to see the environment from the viewpoint of small animals, assisting them in locating and retrieving these creatures for the research.
Next up is the Perilous Expedition event. Here, players will help a Liyue adventurer to study the geography and hydrology of Sumeru. Each day, a new area will unlock for exploration, and players will need to engage in three rounds of combat per exploration.
A stackable buff will be activated if team compositions are varied. The event presents different challenges in each exploration, providing a great chance for players to experiment with different character combinations.
The third event, Adventurer’s Trials: Advanced, is designed to train rookie adventurers. The Mondstadt Adventurers’ Guild’s Branch Master has set up new challenges that involve passing three consecutive trial challenges in a single run in the Sequential Trials.
Alternatively, players can participate in Fortuitous Trials, where three trial challenges will be randomly generated upon entering the Domain. These will include a variety of mini-games, such as collecting Adventure Coins while flying and dodging attacks, kicking Slimes into goals, and skilfully avoiding various traps.
▍Genshin Impact Ver. 3.8 – Genius Invokation TCG
The Genius Invokation TCG is set to receive exciting new content in its forthcoming update.
Among the new features is the introduction of a PvE mode named “The Forge Realm’s Temper: Endless Swarm”. This mode presents players with continuous waves of adversaries over a predetermined number of rounds, challenging them to pit their well-crafted decks against a seemingly ceaseless onslaught of enemies. Different stages in this new mode will apply special rules and unique buffs while introducing a range of opponents to combat. Points are earned by defeating these foes, with each victory contributing to a player’s overall score.
Additionally, the Genius Invokation TCG update will introduce three new character cards into the game: Candace, Yanfei, and Kaedehara Kazuha.
▍Hoyo Fest 2023
Beyond the in-game main event, exciting events are also set to take place outside the game, as the Hoyo Fest enters its third year. Starting in July, HoYoverse will host a series of thrilling online and offline Hoyo Fest events.
These events offer a variety of experiences for the players. From exclusive merchandise that fans can add to their collections to engaging offline activities that allow players to connect in real life. The events also promise in-game and out-of-game rewards. ▍Genshin Impact’s Commemorative OST Album: “The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 3”
As mentioned in the live stream, Fans of Genshin Impact have something to look forward to as the game’s third Commemorative OST album, The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 3, is set to be released.
The album, curated by the HOYO-MiX team, is a three-disc collection featuring the original music from Version 3.0 to Version 3.8. It is a comprehensive audio journey that includes music from storyline videos and animations, as well as version-specific events.
Among the anticipated tracks is music from popular events such as the Sabzeruz Festival and the Aranara. The album also encapsulates the melodies of the Windblume Festival and the music from the latest Version 3.8 Veluriyam Mirage event.

In Genshin Impact Special Program, one-minute footage was debuted, offering a sneak peek into Fontaine, the Nation of Justice. The eagerly anticipated location is slated for release later this year after Version 3.8.
The showcased footage reveals a diverse glimpse into the urban and underwater landscapes of Fontaine. The camera navigates the bustling streets perched above the water, capturing the distinctive ambiance and architecture of this city of justice. Key locations, such as the Fleuve Cendre and the city sewers, make an appearance.
