Bandai Namco has shared the first details of Sword Art Online: Last Recollection‘s “Ritual of Bonds” downloadable content during the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase at Anime Expo 2023. game. The DLC is included with the game’s Premium and Deluxe editions and explores a riveting new storyline based on the War of the Underworld anime arc.
This additional content will introduce a large underground labyrinth for Kirito and his friends to investigate, enriching the lands and containing the expansion of the Dark Territory. The two volumes of Ritual of Bonds will include original characters from the game’s cast of heroines and dungeons.
An Original Character Trailer featuring characters from a decade of SAO games was also unveiled. These characters, interweaving fates across past games, will once again unite for battle in Sword Art Online: Last Recollection.
Scheduled for release worldwide on October 5, 2023, the latest installment in the Sword Art Online series will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders for the game open today.

The game offers a variety of editions for pre-order. The Standard Edition, priced at USD $59.99, includes the base game. The Deluxe Edition at USD $84.99 features both the base game and a season pass. The Ultimate Edition for USD $99.99 encompasses the base game, digital soundtrack, digital artbook, and season pass.
The Season Pass priced separately at USD $29.99 includes immediate access to DLC 1 and DLC 2, once they are available for download. In addition, the game offers separate purchasable DLCs, each for USD $14.99, and an Ultimate Upgrade for Steam users at launch at USD $24.99.
As part of the pre-order bonus, Bandai Namco is offering a bonus for all digital versions of the game. The Black Swordsman Swords Skins Set bonus includes five unique skins for one-handed sword-type weapons-usable in-game. The pre-order bonus set includes the weapon skins: Elucidator, Dark Repulser, Remaining Heart, Rainbow Blade Ex Eterna, and Aetherial Glow.
