ESDigital Games and Lofty Sky Entertainment have announced a long-term publishing partnership, starting with the console release of the graphic novel adventure, Shuyan Saga. Set to launch on September 22, 2023, the game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Originally released in 2017 for PC, iOS, and Android platforms, the console version of the game has been re-imagined, featuring optimized combat controls and support for additional languages including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian, and Korean.
Shuyan Saga is set in an ancient Chinese martial arts fantasy universe and follows the tale of Princess Shuyan, who embarks on a transformative journey to become a true disciple of Kung Fu and halt the malevolent Guer horde from ravaging the Five Kingdoms. The epic tale is told through over 1,400 art panels and 3D action combat, encompassing over 300 combat animations. These animations are crafted from the motion-captured Kung-Fu techniques of Shifu Longfei Yang, Master of the Shanxi Praying Mantis Style.
The console release builds upon the game’s interactive narrative, allowing players to control the unfolding story and experience the consequences of their choices in a fantasy world inspired by ancient China. The gameplay combines diverse fighting styles, each offering unique moves and mechanics, to create an immersive experience blending graphic novel storytelling with martial arts combat.
Additionally, those attending Gamescom this year will have the opportunity to witness Shuyan Saga at ESDigital Games’ showcase in the Business Zone (hall 4.1 stand D020).
