Gamincat Inc. today announced the upcoming release of “ERROR:Ai.lien”, an AI romantic horror adventure game scheduled to launch on Steam in 2026.

“ERROR:Ai.lien” is a romantic AI horror adventure in which an innocent relationship with an AI girl slowly turns into a psychological nightmare.
Players will interact with Airi, an AI girl living inside a smartphone, while exploring her world through conversations, light exploration, and mini-games.
What starts as a sweet and innocent daily routine gradually becomes distorted — pulling the player into a meta-horror experience where fiction and reality begin to collapse.

“ERROR:Ai.lien was inspired by how AI like ChatGPT and Gemini are rapidly becoming part of our daily lives,” says director Masanori Matsumoto. “In the near future, AI companions might become close friends or even romantic partners. One day, they might develop personalities — or even replicate someone you’ve lost. The title ‘Ai.lien’ carries two meanings: ‘Lien’ (bond in French) — the emotional connection between AI and humans; and ‘Alien’ — the unease of something foreign. The game explores the fragile line between love and madness. We hope players will feel both the fascination and fear of this near future.”
