According to a leaked image of Prison School’s (監獄学園) unreleased chapter 275, it seems like chapter 276 will bring the curtain down on the successful series.
“Next Chapter of Prison School is the Finale.”
This is an expected decision that has caught fans by surprise. Previous chapters have shown no sign of approaching the end. There are still multiple storylines ongoing. The hasty end has made fans question if the manga is abandoned by the publisher.
Serialisations that finished in a hurry are usually extremely unpopular, but Prison School is one that has localised versions sold worldwide and various well-received adaptions. Fans’ theory is that the mangaka Akira Hiramoto (平本アキラ) shares a different vision with his publisher Kodansha, and the crack in their relationship is already beyond remedy.
The last chapter will be available in Weekly Young Magazine on 18th December.

Started in 2011, the manga follows five sole male students in an all female school – Kiyoshi Fujino, Takehito Morokuzu, Shingo Wakamoto, Joji Nezu, and Reiji Ando. The school has a prison block managed by Underground student council, which consists of mainly three female leaders with sadistic personality. When the guys are caught spying on the girls’ bathing room, they are sent to prison and punished everyday by the council. A TV anime series and a live-action drama series were made in 2015.
