▍World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
“Different from the demo version, new characters, but still a pointless game.”
“This game sucks, whoever says it’s good won’t be able to stand it for over a month.”
“Quite a few original monsters, but still a just a game exploiting the FF title.”
Basically a collectible monster breeding game with a FF theme. However, not a lot of the iconic FF characters appear. instead, the game features monsters from the FF series, as well as a few original monsters that are designed to fit in the world of Final Fantasy. In terms of graphics, the game isn’t anything special and the combat is almost fully auto, but if Square Enix knows anything, it is that as long as FF is in the title, fans will surely give it a chance.
▍Yokai Planet Claris
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
“An obscure game might have gone too far.”
“Never thought developers would think of a game like that, kinda makes it a masterpiece.”
“Would anyone play something like this?”
A game created from thoughts and ideas of players, because of this, many parts of the game is bizarre and obscure! characters range from moe to weird. to make things even better, the game is an MMO, meaning when players enter the game, they will see a bunch of weird characters interacting with one another. I guess you can call this a more “interesting” pick for this week.
▍Djinn Caster
Gamer Reactions:
“Kemco’s RPGs are getting better and better.”
“Characters are too western for my taste.”
“The combat style is quite nice, but the controls are too plain.”
Another mobile RPG from Kemco, however, this game doesn’t follow the usual Japanese style. The game features a more ARPG-like control which gives players a more immersive combat experience to tie-in with the game’s story.
▍Disney Flower Drops
Japanese Gamer Reaction
“It’s a Disney game, but why isn’t anyone talking about it?”
“Another block Remover? This is completely made for kids, right?”
Another puzzle block remover game with a Disney theme. The game has little-to-none originality. Overall, the game has a more immature feel to it which makes it seem like it was aimed at young children.
▍ Otome Game Highlight
▍Bungo Stray Dogs: Mayoi Inu Kaikitan
Japanese Game Reactions:
“Great art style, Chibi characters are so adorable~”
“So kind-hearted!! SSR rates are so high!”
“Currently, only the iconic characters are fully voiced, hope they fully voice the other characters too!”
A mobile game based on the hit Otome series, Bungo Stray Dogs. The game features great visuals and key characters are fully voiced by renowned voice actors. Asides from following the plot of the series, the game also includes original content. The pinball gameplay is simple and doesn’t require much thought (is that a good thing? lol), but the most important thing is that the gacha rates are really high, making fans incredibly satisfied.
▍Akaseka
在茜色世界與君詠唱
Gamer Reactions:
“This is Yume 100 2.0 right?”
“Yume 100 seems to have lowered the difficulty, making it easier for new players.”
“Looking at the game’s story you have this “hmm as expected” feeling, but I’m still looking forward to their new games.”
Although the story of the game is a typical “girl slips through time reverse harem love story”, one can never get too tired of ikemen! Asides from the incredible artwork, renowned voice actor cast, story, and gacha, the game’s block remover gameplay has no time limit, allowing players to soak in the great world the game is set in.
▍Paid game of the Week
YouTubers Life
Price: USD8.99
Summary:
The mobile version is slightly simplified, majority of the time is spent in player’s room, but the majority of the gameplay remains the same. The game focuses on everyday life to earn money, upgrading your equipment, make videos and upload them for views and money, the goal is to get rich and move into a bigger house (room lol)!
