Adapted from Yoru Sumino’s (住野よる) novel, anime movie Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai (君の膵臓をたべたい) will premiere in Japan’s theater in 2018 early Fall. A new visual showing the two protagonists is also released today.
The story follows an unnamed protagonist who come across a diary written by his female classmate Sakura Yamauchi in a hospital. Yamauchi suffers from a mysterious pancreatic disease, and under her influence the protagonist becomes more approachable and willing to make friends. After her death, Yamauchi’s best friend becomes his first friend ever.
Cast and other details are not yet available.
The novel has had 2.5 million copies sold in Japan. A live action movie adaption was made in July 2017.
