China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference, or ChinaJoy, kicks off today (2nd August) in Shanghai. With over 170.000 square meters, the 15 exhibition halls showcase the latest smartphone games, console games, web games and arrays of technological gadgets. Here are some highlights you should not miss!
▍Tmall X Bandai Namco X Lego
China’s e-commerce platform Tmall.com partners with Bandai Namco to showcase several Gundam action figures. A specially built Lego Tmall cat is also displayed.
▍DeNA China
DeNA China brings forth a number of smartphone games from popular anime, such as anime Slam Dunk, Yu Yu Hakusho, HUNTER×HUNTER, Guilty Crown, and Saint Seiya.
DeNA China is also developing a new simulation mobile game adapting TV anime Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma.
▍Sheng Qu Games
Otome games such as Ikeme Vampire and Yumeiro Cast can be found in the booth of Sheng Qu Games.

During the convention, Tencent and Nintendo announce to join hands in releasing Nintendo Switch console in China. Titles like Super Mario Odyssey, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would be the first batch entering the Chinese market.
▍Bandai Namco Shanghai
Gamers will be excited by the booth of Bandai Namco Shanghai, which presents arrays of anime games including Sword Art Online: Black Swordsman, Gundam Battle, One Piece Burning Will, Dragon Ball Z Battle, and Naruto Mobile.
