According to Japanese Newspaper the Kyoto Shimbun, Nintendo is now in consideration of making a successor to 3DS. Not much is revealed by the company, however.
Nintendo’s president Tatsumi Kimishima said their latest product, Switch, was much different from 3DS in terms of price and shape despite both being portable game consoles. He added that there were demands for a portable game console like 3DS from children. Therefore, he would be considering a successor.
Nintendo actually released 2DS two years after launching 3DS, but it has been met with mixed reviews.
