In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Utawarerumono series next year, Aquaplus announced that the franchise is getting a new game and TV anime.
▍Monochrome Mobius: Atonement of Time
The brand new game titled Monochrome Mobius: Atonement of Time will release in 2022. Aquaplus has revealed two images to preview the game, but no platforms have been revealed for now.
Munemitsu Suga is credited as the original work and writer for the game. Illustrator mi works on the character design. Naoya Shimokawa is the composer.
▍Utawarerumono: The Two White Emperors
Utawarerumono: The Two White Emperors, the final chapter of the anime series, will debut in July 2022. A teaser visual and trailer has been revealed for the announcement.
The anime is directed by Kenichi Kawamura and animated by WHITE FOX. Itsuki Yokoyama is overseeing the series scripts, and Masahiko Nakata is the character designer and chief animation director.
Kentarō Tone is replacing the late Keiji Fujiwara as the protagonist Oshtor (Haku). Risa Taneda reprises her role as Kuon. Other returning cast members include Chinatsu Akasaki as Anju, and Inori Minase as Nekone.
