During battles, players can select between the red, blue, yellow “command beads” on the left side of each character icon to attack. If you select a command bead of the same colour, the witches will do more damage with combo attacks.
Each of the three coloured command beads has different effects, for example the red beads give a bonus to attack, and the blue beads heal you party. This verifies the strategies that can be applied while you can select different beads according to the situation.
Players can unlock all the witches by proceeding the story, but you still need to head to gacha for rare cards. The cards can be equipped on the witches and grants them different abilities. The cards’ rarity also decide the effects available in the singing performance, while UR definitely gets the best one.
The battle system also has a handy auto select feature, which selects a suitable formation according to the stage that you’re fighting, giving you the maximum benefit to fight each battle.

The Witch Cards can be considered as a separate version of the character that has different skills and can be upgraded to empower your witches. These cards come in different rarities starting from R and going to the highest, i.e, UR at 3% rates.
The gacha system is your standard run of the mill system where players summon with their tickets or premium currency “Diamonds”. A ten pull costs around 1800 Diamonds on the guaranteed UR banners and costs 1200 for standard banners. Players get ample amount of tickets, in the beginning, to summon on the standard banner along with a Guaranteed UR Ticket and 2 Guaranteed SSR Tickets to give new players a good roster to start with.

Lapis Re:Lights offers a wide variety of methods for you to interact with your witches and increase your affection with them. Each witch features a stunning Live 2D graphics and 3D model, while players can enjoy their different response by giving them gifts or dress them in new clothes.
As the teacher of the witches, you will constantly get calls or text messages from them and players get to know more about them by answering the calls and writing back the messages. Increasing their Affection level also unlocks more voice lines, expressions, and illustrations

Lapis Re:Lights features a diverse customisation system that allows you to change how the Witches look and even how they move. The costume feature is not a paywalled system but players can instead farm the currency required to unlock costumes through in-game dungeons. This increases interaction and makes the player motivated to unlock different beautiful costumes.
Apart from costumes, players can also purchase accessories like ribbons, face masks, hats, headbands, etc. Though the costumes won’t provide any stats bonus, it do give you a chance to dress the girls according to your aesthetics.

Lapis Re:Lights also has a PvP mode in the form of Arena which unlocks after clearing 4-3 of the first chapter. By fighting against AI opponent, it gives you a good chance to obtain premium currency. Players can also join Guild, called Eaves Association, to bond with other players. The Dispatch system allows player tosend out their witches and get rewards like Stamina, Gold, and Skip tickets in return.
