BRAVELY DEFAULT FAIRY’S EFFECT
ブレイブリーデフォルト フェアリーズエフェクト
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"FFGM is better, much simpler and more direct."
"The story is disappointing, the only thing that’s good about it is the IP."
"A graphical update of FFGM, but I’m going to stick with FFGM!"
The core of the game is exactly the same as FFGM, both MMO games and both has a weapon Gacha system. Players can choose between different classes to determine their playstyle.
To make the games different, asides from the graphics and story, developers added new elements to the combat system. Unfortunately Japanese gamers didn’t seem to buy it and so, the game didn’t do that well.
In terms of the story, The Bravely Default story was just too significant to top. Fans may find that the game’s story a little lacking.
Super Mario Run
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"Maybe it’s because I wasn’t anticipating it at all, it’s better than I thought it was."
"Don’t know why, but it’s just boring. I remember thinking ‘oh that seems interesting’ when I first heard of it."
"The game doesn’t last very long unless you pay, that’s reasonable."
After a long wait, Super Mario Run is finally out for Android.
Parkour like run and jump isn’t that new on the mobile platform, but the game did perform very well, even though the “pay for additional stages” method isn’t as successful as the mobile classic Gacha like in Fire Emblem Heroes.
Seems like everything isn’t going as smoothly as Nintendo wants! (lol)
Haka Fantasia
戰舞幻想曲
Chinese Gamer Reactions:
"The theme song is really good!"
"Not bad for an action game, but the VIP system sucks."
"China servers updates really slow, hope the Traditional Chinese version does better."
A lot of thought and effort has been out into this Chinese made mobile game. From the graphics and character designs to the gameplay and Japanese theme song, everything about the game feels quite nice.
Regrettably, developers included a VIP system typically seen in many Chinese-made games. This in a sense stained all the hard work put into making it. To be honest, the VIP system is quite common in the mobile game industry, but most developers blends them seamlessly into the game, making it harder for players to spot them.
Romantic Sedai Kotai Sousei no Onmyouji
ロマンチック世代交代バトル 双星の陰陽師
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"The system isn’t exactly fun, but at least its something new."
"Such a shame the anime ending turned into a typical Gal-game. Hope the game can do better."
"The anime adaptation… (cry). My head hurts."
Another one of BANDAI NAMCO’s creations based off one of their IP. Due to the manga and anime adaptation being quite different, the IP has already caused quite a few conflicts.
The game follows manga’s theme of reproduction, with a special little feature which allows players to come together in-game to give birth to new generations of onmyoujis.
DanMach: Cross Istoria
ダンまち -クロス・イストリア-
Japanese Gamer Reactions:
"It’s exactly the same as the browser version."
"Whoever plays and pays for an ancient game like is is stupid."
"There are stupid people everywhere…"
Basically an exact carbon copy of the browser version. In terms of gameplay and graphics, this title hardly stands against recent games. Asides from being a big IP, there really isn’t much to this game, even then, only a true fan will be able to power through.
