Square Enix has just announced the release date of Dragon Quest XI (ドラゴンクエストXI 過ぎ去りし時を求めて) in a press conference today (11th April). The game will be released on PS4 and Nintendo 3DS on 29th July this year. A nostalgic 2D mode will be available specially for 3DS.

This upcoming game is the eleventh release of the Dragon Quest franchise. The story will focus on a 16 year-old boy who lives a quiet life in a calm village, but leaves his hometown to venture into the world of Rotozetasia (ロトゼタシア) upon realising that he has a mission left to complete as the reincarnation of a great hero.
