Square Enix new mobile title, Bravely Default Fairy’s Effect, is a reminiscent of the main games in the Bravely Default series. The mobile title has a lot to offer with its main story, job quests, special dungeons, and combat system.
Here’s a quick guide to getting started!
Daily Login Bonus & Rinne
Login in each day can help you earn consecutive rewards. The rewards you can obtain vary from Mythril (in-game premium currency), gold, weapons, weapon fusion materials, tokens (which can be used to exchange for weapons and summoning tickets), and EXP!
You can also find Rinne around the overworld. When you talk to her, you will be rewarded with either a specific job weapon, Mythril, tokens, or scrolls.
Job System
The job system is similar to the main games within the series. You aren’t bound to a single job and can freely change in between jobs! All you need to do is to complete the first quest of your desired job and you’ll have access to a class specific weapon and outfit/armor.
You can pick and switch around five different jobs that are available to you upon completion of their corresponding quest.
Knight – Shield bearers that are best situated in the front line. These tutelary units bear the burden of enduring enemy attacks to protect the party. Capable of self-reinforcement, knights can also equip Great swords and are stable attackers.
Black Mage – Plentiful in party-wide attacks, these offensive magic specialists have the fastest BP recovery. These black magic warriors can make short of enemies with flashy, powerful abilities.
White Mage – These healers are best at what they do best: healing and resurrection. They are good at lifting their allies’ spirits up, and are a necessity for great teamwork. The presence of white mages become more important as opponents get stronger.
Thief – Specialized in physical combat, these marauders are known for their speed, firepower and evasion. They also possess the ability to instantly tear down their foes.
Ranger – Tricksters who dominate over status effects and unique skills. These archers are first-rate when it comes to weakening enemies with quick and accurate attacks. Their excellent attack and defense parameters make them crucial for enemy warfare.
One important thing to remember, each job has a maximum level capacity of 80. Levels are not shared between jobs! Grinding up per job will be a huge but rewarding task.
Jobs that are recommended to power up first are Knight → Black mage → Thief → Ranger → White Mage. Besides that, feel free to pick any job you wish to power up on. You can switch anytime in case you obtain better armor or weapons, so don’t hesitate to mess around!
Job Asterisk Board
As you complete quests, you’ll be earning different types of crystals along your journey. These crystals can be used to unlock additional stats and bonuses for your job. Once you have access to the asterisk board (right after choosing your first desired job and completing a job quest), you’ll be able to unlock different attributes.
Many of these attributes can be unlocked with having a specific number and type of crystals. You can farm up specific crystals on daily dungeons. There are different colored crystal dungeons available each day. Check daily and farm up to complete the board!
Such attributes you can unlock are extra resistance to specific elements, additional HP (Hit Points), addition BP (Battle Points), additional damage, etc..
Job Gacha & Re-Rolling
Is Re-Rolling worth the time? Unless if you want to re-download the app, multiple times and grind up several Mythril to try your luck, then it’s not recommended to re-roll unless if you obtain bad weapon pulls. It’s easy to farm up Mythril once you complete quests and complete limited timed dungeons!
There’s a variety of job gachas that you can summon from. Each gacha rewards different weapons and armor for any specific job of your choice.
They vary from step up gacha to special event gacha. Step-up gacha requires a total of x320 Mythril, 10 normal summons require x150 Mythril, with various rewards per step, such as Mythril, gold, EXP, and a guaranteed ★5 weapon at the 4th final step, which is great for players just starting out that need the extra resources! There’s one downside to the step up gacha, you are not able to summon for an exclusive job.
Recommended gacha to summon are the step up and limited event gacha. If you are aiming for a specific job, feel free to summon from the limited event gacha. Which at times, contain much stronger weapons and armor sets than other available gacha, with many better stats to accompany them.
How to Farm Mythril
Here some ways you can farm up on Mythril to enjoy spending on the gacha!
