A sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is finally coming. The successor, anime movie Mobile Suit Gundam: Narrative (機動戦士ガンダムNT), will premiere in November 2018 in Japan.
Harutoshi Fukui and Katoki Hajime from Gundam Unicorn have returned for the story and mecha design respectively. The director, however, is replaced by Yoshizawa Toshikazu.
The hero mecha in the new work is Narrative Gundam. Set a year after the end of Gundam Unicorn, the story revolves around three childhood friends, a boy by the name of Yonah, and two girls called Rita and Michelle.
Besides, Yoshiyuki Tomino’s novel series Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash (機動戦士ガンダム 閃光のハサウェイ) will be made into three anime movies for 2019 release. Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam UC2 will be made into a non-Japanese drama for 2022 release.
Bandai Namco is also making something new for Gundam – a mobile game project called New Tactical Game Project, but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
